What is Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is normally found in some foods. This vitamin is produced in the body by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. It is also available as a supplement. This is needed for bone density and regeneration and Calcium is better absorbed in the stomach with vitamin D, which balances phosphate and improves bone formation in the body.  If you do not get enough vitamin D, your bones become thin and brittle, and sometimes get a bad form. If children gave enough this vitamin, they can prevent osteoporosis in adulthood. Vitamin D also has other functions such as regulating cell growth, strengthening the neuromuscular system, boosting the immune system and reducing inflammation. This vitamin regulates genes that direct proteins which multiply and differentiate cells.

Vitamin D is vital for strengthening bones in the body. This vitamin absorbs calcium from nutrients and can prevent breakage and deformity of bones and also strengthen thin and weak bones. Severe vitamin D deficiency causes bow legs, knee sprains and bone weakness.

2. Prevention of rickets or osteoporosis:

This vitamin is very helpful for having strong bones. Vitamin D prevents the development of rickets or osteoporosis, so people who receive little sun should take vitamin D supplements or consume milk and dairy product.

People with vitamin D deficiency are more prone to develop high blood pressure. In kidney patients, this deficiency  increases the risk of developing high blood pressure.

Deficiency of this vitamin  can cause heart attack, stroke, heart failure and also the risk of calcium deposition in the arteries.

‌Proper muscles function needs enough amounts of Vitamin D. Deficiency of this vitamin causes weakness and pain in the muscles, and you may experience symptoms like flu. The severity of this pain varies from mild to severe, and if vitamin D deficiency is not compensated, it will be worsened over time.

Headache and Vertigo

Deficiency of this vitamin  can cause high blood pressure. In fact, high blood pressure is known as the silent killer, because it is a major cause of heart attack and stroke, but in some cases it has no symptoms and the person is not aware of its existence.

The risk of viral diseases in children with high amount of vitamin D in their immune system is very low.

If you notice excessive sweating in your body without a clear cause such as fever, hot weather or strenuous physical activity, you should consult your doctor because excessive sweating is usually a symptom of vitamin D deficiency in the body.

This vitamin is one of the important nutrients that can affect hair growth and its deficiency causes hair loss. If you do not provide the vitamins and minerals your body need, the vital nutrients for hair growth cycle and follicle formation will not reach into the hair. Deficiency of these substances causes sensitivity and fragility of your hair or even hair loss.
